“I’m still waiting.

I’m still waiting for some animal rights activist group to comment on Thursday’s US Airways plane crash into New York’s Hudson River, scaring - but not killing - 155 passengers.

I’m still waiting for such a group to complain about the poor dead birds that got sucked into the plane’s engine, causing the crash, and how US Airways, for example, should be ashamed of itself for murdering those innocent birds in mid-flight - the birds’ mid-flight, that is.

Think I’m joking? I’m not.

Just wait for it. These people never let me down.”

Wow, Mr. Davich, are you also waiting for environmentalists to come forward and say that this is what we get for our over-consumption of fuel? While you are at it, maybe you should also take potshots at water conservationists by documenting your intent to wait for them to complain that the we have now further polluted the Hudson River?

While I am personally yet to hear any animal rights activisits make any such comment on the bird-victims in this situation, and trust me I would have by now, I must say that it is your own rationale that has managed to take this situation into an extremist scenario that has yet to even occur to the most passionate animal rights activist. I can’t help but wonder if you are simply trying to arouse some fury from said animal rights activists just to further confirm the opinions that you so clearly have of them? You yourself managed to dredge up that completely random and asinine notion from this situation. Accidents happen where animals and people die. Its part of life.

And if any animal groups do want to make some such absurd claims, I will be the first to blog about their ridiculous commentary. But until then, let me just allay your concerns…all is calm on this front.
