Wow, was shocked today to find out about a Petland store in Akron being shut down today because of animal cruelty. Well, that part didn’t shock me. But the manner in which it was carried out, and the apparent pleasure by the woman who did it was a bit shocking. When I first read that Elizabeth Carlisle, a Petland employee, was posing with two dead rabbits that she had apparently just drowned, I thought it was an extremists attempt to doctor a story. When I even saw the picture of her proudly holding the two dead, and soaking wet, rabbits, I still had a doubt in the back of my mind. This photo could have somehow been taken out of context (how I am not sure), or could have been doctored. But then I went on to read that Petland Corporate has gone ahead and closed the Petland store, as well as the Humane Society is launching an investigation into the issue and looking at filing charges against Elizabeth Carlisle. This is just disgusting.
