This is an open letter to the Discovery Channel regarding the new program on their affiliate network, TLC, called “My Monkey Baby”. In it, a couple who own a monkey as a pet are depicted. The monkey is dressed like a little girl, fed sweets and sugary snacks, and even has makeup applied to it. This is my response.

What is the purpose of an awareness day?
