CA animal group takes on powerful Ringling Bros. circus

Sacramento-based Born Free USA (formerly the Animal Protection Institute), a plaintiff in the federal lawsuit against Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus (Ringling Bros.) for its abuse of endangered Asian elephants, today revealed startling details uncovered during the trial.

More questions regarding the euthanasia of an endangered jaguar

Recently, I was contacted by Dr. Kristen Nelson, a veterinarian, regarding Macho B, the jaguar that was trapped, and subsequently euthanized, by the Arizona Department of Game and Fish. She had some serious concerns and questions revolving around the circumstance’s of Macho B’s death. She directed me to her own website, which included a detailed list of her concerns. The birth of a baby elephant; and the immediate separation from its Mother

Ringling has long maintained that this center is to study and preserve the endangered Asian Elephant; the same elephant that they use in their performances. The same center that was coincidentally founded after it was made illegal to import wild-caught elephants (among other species) into America for use in entertainment. If this center is *truly* for the conservation and preservation of this endangered species; here are my questions as pertains to this video, which by all accounts, depicts a typical birth at the Ringling Bros Center for Elephant Conservation.

Sorry to get your goat; my last act of defiance

The day came when I inevitably had enough of county shelter life, and decided to leave to preserve what little sanity I had left. About the same time that I had made this decision, the shelter received a small little goat that had been found wandering the rural streets of a nearby city. I did not want him, under any circumstances, to go to public auction. How do I smuggle a goat out of animal control?

A newspaper report shows that an Arizona Game and Fish employee and a biologist with a jaguar detection group apparently planned to trap one of the rare cats and that a volunteer spread scent to attract it to a snare.
